Tribe of NOW

Importance of Persistence

Hey everyone,

For me it all started with a thought: something’s not right; something needs to change, and that change should start now. For me, the financial aspect was crucial. The 9 to 5 life just wasn’t cutting it. I was searching for a way to express my creativity and be independent.

I’ve always been drawn to marketing. It’s this cool mix of results and creativity, where you need to understand psychology and what drives people to take action. E-commerce ticked all the boxes for me: independence, creativity, and a path to financial freedom without the need for a traditional job.

My e-commerce journey began four years ago. I opened two Shopify stores, dabbled in print on demand, and even tried my hand at the Amazon seller platform. There were a few sales here and there, even got a product to the first page on Amazon for a key keyword. But it was a start-stop journey, each pause prompted by a significant reason.

Last August, I hit my enough-is-enough moment. It was time to dive back in and stick with it, no more giving up. I decided to focus on e-commerce dropshipping with Shopify. Found a mentor, took his course, and launched a store under his guidance. Things started off well, but the product wasn’t right. Sales came in, but so did the returns, way too many.

I spent loads of time and resources trying to make it work, only to realize the real game isn’t about sticking to one product you love; it’s about trying as many as possible until you find the one that works.

Since January, I’ve been adding new products to my potential list, opened three new stores, and already had to shut down two. Now, I’m testing the third and gearing up for the fourth. With over 50 potential products on my list, my main goal is to learn how to test and fail as quickly as possible. It’s the only way to sift through and find those gems that will sell well and make all the effort and costs worthwhile.

I made a promise to myself last August that I wouldn’t give up, that I’d work on it as long as it takes to reach my goals. It’s March now, and I’ve failed plenty, but I’m also more knowledgeable, stronger, and more experienced. The only thing missing is the results.

But results are just the tipping point, the visible part of all the effort you put in behind the scenes, unseen and unbelieved by most. The only one who knows and believes is you. I came across a great quote in a book I’m reading: “You become successful the moment you decide to and take the first step towards your goal.” Results are just the world catching up to what you’ve known all along.

So, take the time to dream, think about what you want, write it down, decide to act, make your first step, and never stop. Never give up.
